TFSL continues monitoring visits to placement schools in Pujehun District
On Monday 16 February 2026, our team continued a monitoring visit to four placement schools across Pujehun District as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen teacher performance and learning outcomes.
The visit enabled us to engage school leaders, teachers, students, and community stakeholders through classroom observations and review meetings. We assessed progress, identified key challenges, and reinforced accountability and collaboration at the district level.
The team was warmly welcomed in each school by the Students’ Leadership Councils’ Presidents, who received us with flowers and kind words. Their confidence and organisational skills reflected a growing culture of student leadership and ownership within the schools. Heads of schools and system teachers shared that our fellows have helped improve enrolment, attendance, retention, lesson planning and delivery, classroom management, and student participation.

The MBSSE and TSC District Directors in Pujehun District, Yusuf Kamara and Tamba Bockarie respectively, emphasised that structured supervision is critical to maintaining standards and improving teacher performance and service delivery across schools. They applauded our work and commended our fellows for their contribution to improving learning outcomes in these hard-to-reach communities.
Community stakeholders also expressed appreciation for our continued engagement, noting visible improvements in student discipline, attendance, punctuality, and academic focus, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the schools and the fellows to maintain the standards already set.
Town Chiefs Paul A. Sengeh of Bamba Malen and Imuana Koroma of Hinai Malen expressed immense gratitude to Teach For Sierra Leone for our timely intervention and show of support in elevating their communities. They described the fellows as “God sent” and prayed that their commitment to delivering excellence in the discharge of their duties will be sustained.
The Southern Region team also visited St. Michael’s Primary School (Gbondapi) and SLC Primary School (Sahun Kpaka).
The joint monitoring exercise continues in Bombali, Bo, Karene, Moyamba, and Port Loko districts.
TFSL remains committed to ensuring quality education delivery across all partner schools.
