Fellow Spotlight: Edna Sannoh (Cohort 5)
Edna Sannoh, a Cohort 5 Fellow and Early Childhood Development (ECD) educator with a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Care and Education, is a dedicated champion for early years learning and community development.

In Mamai Kanu Village, where access to quality early childhood education had never existed, Edna took the bold step of establishing an ECD centre at the SLC Primary School. Through strong engagement with parents and community stakeholders, she mobilized local support and resources to create a safe, child-friendly learning environment where young children are introduced to literacy, numeracy, storytelling, songs, and play-based learning.

Speaking during a monitoring visit, the Head of School, Madam Alimatu Turay, said Edna’s initiative has brought meaningful change to the school and the community as a whole. Parents are now more aware of the value of early childhood education, more children are enrolling in school, and learners are better prepared for primary education.
As an ECD Master Trainer, Edna’s leadership and commitment continue to lay a strong foundation for children in this community and across the country as a whole.
Take your flowers, Edna!
